Episode 36: Nono's Hip Replacement - Part 1

In this week’s episode of Form, Function, and Flow Lab, I talked about Nono’s hip replacement. Nono is my dad. I had a hip injury last year and I did a couple of episodes regarding my hip journey. I think it would be good to also talk about my father’s hip injury so I decided to make this podcast.

He is really flexible for a guy and for a guy of his age. I am not sure if his injury was the same as the degenerative process that my hip has undergone as I was also hypermobile. He did not, however, do any sport that would require him to overstretch.

As to the procedure, my father had a posterior hip replacement over a week ago. I wanted to talk about this to help you understand what contributes to the stabilization of the hips, how the hip moves, and what we plan to do with him to help his recovery to be the best that it can be.

In this episode we discuss:

  • [0:36] Introduction to the topic
  • [2:18] The hip: what you need to remember
  • [12:41] Out of the box things I plan on doing for my dad’s recovery

If you have any questions, you can drop it in the comment section or you send me a message through Facebook or Instagram. I’d be happy to do another podcast about your questions. Also, if you want me to talk about something specific, let me know!

You can also check my TikTok account as I use the platform to educate viewers about movement, chiropractic education, yoga, pregnancy, and more!

Thank you for listening and see you next week!
